Positive and Negative Space
During one of the classes we were experimenting with Positive and Negative space, this was also the same time that I was thinking about developing this website. All sites need a logo, so I started playing with positive and negative space. In Photoshop I start with a black square with rounded corners. Centered a white square within the black square, and then another black square inside of the white.
Next a added a black rectable overlapping the left side of the white square. This created a "D". For extra contrast, and to add a cool/calm color, I added and offset an aqua blue square inside the inner black square, leaving a visible "C". Voila - DC for DajosCorner.
As I have continued to develop this site I have expanded the logo, adding text to the botton of the logo for each area of interest: DRAW, LITHO, PHOTO, POETRY, POTTERY, PRESS, PRINT, SCREEN and STORY.
David's Collection - I was trying to design a new logo, but really striking out, and since the dajoscorner website was shut down I thought I could reuse it. Since many of the dajoscorner pages have migrated here, it feels right that the logo should come as well.
