Printmaking: More Prints

Throughout this class I have worked on:

The following are my favorite prints from the class presented in alphabetical order by file name:

Flipping through an old photo album I stumbled across this picture and thought it would make a good drypoint, this was one of my first attempts using Lexan

Feb 7 1980

This is the final picture from the attempt at lithography, it was copied from a postcard of the 2012 student exhibit at NHIA, where I am taking classes.

Lithography Project

This is a drypoint of my daughter fishing in the stream behind our house when she was 5 or 6.

Fishing

Another dry point.

Lady

Same image, I added one more person to the background just fill the space and hand painted the dress, using red water color.

Lady In Red

Early is the class I tried to make my own press, after several attempts I realized that I could only print a very small drypoint (2x2in max), I just cannot generate the required pressure. This is my daughter when she was 3.

Little Hannah

In my Visual Studies class last fall, I did a perspective drawing of my ideal room, this is the same drawing as a drypoint on copper.

Perspective in Drypoint

The perspective drawing done as a relief print on linoleum. In the end the whole series did not turn out very well. I made 3 relief cuts for different colors, but goofed on the registration, did a second relief print of killer whales, and also had trouble registering the blocks. So in the end the only print I liked was the very first proof.

Perspective In Relief

A drypoint copy of "A Starry Night"

Starry Night

During a walk with my dog, Misty, we wandered down to the Merrimack River at the beginning of the Heritage Trail in Bedford NH and took a picture of the train trestle. Here is a drypoint from that picture.

Trestle

A friend of mine travels all over the world, lucky girl, taking pictures, the next two are pictures of one of her friends while traveling Baja CA. The first image was the straight copy of the picture.

Wildman

After making the first print, I thought a background was needed, so added a background based on another picture from Baja CA.
